Wedding Venue

Project Type: Residential

The Site: A flat section of the property that is overlooked from a top terrace

The Brief: To transform this part of the section into a stunning landscape appropriate for use as a wedding venue for the son of the clients. The design needed to allow room for guests, have a focal point at the end and match the green and white theme of the wedding. The garden would also need to look good in all seasons and provide interest when viewed from the 2nd story of the house where the main living areas are.

The Solution: To design with formal, clean lines and circles. A paving pattern was created to be looked down upon and the pavers were placed so that it is easy to walk on them in high healed shoes! The clients already owned a white urn so this was utilised as a water feature, finished of at the base with circular format pavers. Planting was structured and used the colour palette of whites and greens e.g. Camellia 'K Sawada', Prunus lusitanica, Dietes grandiflora and white cherry blossom. Lawn space was left to accomodate guests and balance the areas of loose peametal aggregate.
