Design Philosophy

Curvaceous

Project Type: Residential

The Site:  A blank canvas lawn running along side the driveway and opposite the front door

The Brief:  To create a 'koru' style garden that would be eye catching, provide an interesting place to sit and to be accessible to a wheelchair

The Solution:  A double width of paving, grouted in between is shaped in a double curve.  This paving wraps around a central garden beds and leads to an aggregate seating area.  Bamboo fencing, mimicing the curve, screens the road and cut out windows frame both the view and the gardens.  Chatham Island Nikaus were chosen as the feature plants and assorted ground covers will enhance the ground plane.
