The Site: A slightly sloping property that wraps around two sides of the house. A large palm tree takes centrestage in the top lawn The Brief: To create levelled areas for entertaining, the top area to be lawn and feature the palm tree, the lower area to be circular, private but make the most of the rural views. To plant in a semi tropical style and to find a spot for the bright red archway! The Solution: The clients already had a sketch of what they would like their landscape to look like, it was left up to us to fine tune it with regards to layout and levels and to choose appropriate materials. We thought that a schist rock wall would emphasise the circular lower level and compliment the tropical theme. Railway sleepers were added to provide bulk and crushed lime lightens the whole area.
