General Information
The word Gunnera conjures up images of a giant lout of a plant that look like it could easily be sheltering a Tyrannosaurus Rex but this Gunnera is a little, unassuming, NZ native groundcover.
Features: Long thick red fruit that rise about 50mm above mat forming brownish/bronze leaves
Uses: To spread around rocks and soften the edges of a natural looking water feature. Mass planted as a replacement for lawn in a shady garden under a tree
Combinations: Acorus 'Mini Green', Asplenium bulbiferum, Phormium 'Jack Spratt'
Care: Minimal care required
