This native Fuchsia is a dainty wee ground cover and you have to peer closely to appreciate what it offers. Such a nice ground cover to use in shady native plantings.
Features: Rounded green leaves about 10mm in diameter, yellowy/orange tubular flowers with the red anthers providing colour contrast. The flowers occur in late spring through to summer followed by red berries in early winter
Uses: As a ground cover that will help the soil retain moisture for other native plants, good in pots or over walls. Placed so that it can creep around pond side rocks; it is also tolerant of salt spray
Combinations: Rhopalostylis sapida, Astelia 'Westland', Cordyline sp.
Care: Minimal care required, can cut back if you require a contained plant
