Although tropical in looks this is quite a hardy plant. The Eucomis is full of character and different enough in colour and form for it to be worthy of a special place in the garden.

Features: Wide fleshy leaves coloured green through to burgundy, pineaple shaped burgundy flowers sit on top of stout stems

Uses: Mass plant along a pathway, place one in a pot nestled among ground covers or near a simple water feature

Combinations: Ophiopogon 'Nigrescens', Loropetalum 'Burgundy', Acaena 'Purpurea'

Care: Minimal care required
