Bergenia flowers fit perfectly into a cottage style garden but we think the large paddle shaped leaves are the main attraction. These make the Bergenia a very versatile plant that can be used in a temperate tropical themed garden. Although known as a plant for semi shade we have some stunning specimens thriving in the full sun with a cool root system.

Features: Large paddle shape leaves, flowers that can be shades of pink and white

Uses: Front of the border in tropical gardens, as a contrast to strappy leaf plants, floral art work

Combinations: Trachelospermum jasminoides, Phygelius 'Funfair Wine', Liriope muscari

Care: Minimal care needed
